vBlog #4 – Library Pocket Tutorial

I managed to get a quick video tutorial done this evening over on UStream (can’t upload to YouTube at the moment as they are doing maintenace work on the transfer facility).

I used Sid Silvertrail from Toodles and Binks and Copic Markers  – the full ingredients can be found over on the Toodles and Binks Blog .

Call me fickle, but I am getting a bit annoyed that I can’t seem to upload video on wordpress, and now that blogger seems to have resolved the annoying paragraph issue, I am thinking I might defect back to my blogger blog …. I will sleep on it for a bit though.

Hugs

Kay

Merry Christmas Everyone

and a happy and prosperous New Year ahead.

I hope that Santa brought you lots of lovely goodies…. I know that I got such a lovey pile of crafting goodies – plus my Logitech Webcam for me videos in the coming year.  So much easier to show you all in an ad hoc fashion what I am up to than trying to remember to photograph/or not as the case may be, with all the pfaffing around that that takes.

I am going to try and do a quick haul from this morning as soon as the Rubbah Techno Elf has loaded up the software for me.

Don’t forget that the I Want It All Draw will take place over at Toodles and Binks Blog on 31st December when one lucky person that has commented/taken part in blog candy drawings in 2009 will win all of the current Toodles and Binks Stamps, plus Zoomz, Embossing Powder, some Buck Naked Chipboard and ribbons to kick start their 2010 crafting.  So if you haven’t left a comment make sure that you leave one before end of 31st December 2009 to get added into the draw.  Why not become a follower over their as well, because there is some really good stuff coming in 2010.

Lots of Christmas Hugs.

Too hot for very much

and so I thought I would have a play on my own with Photoshop Elements 7, as I work with v.3, you can image that it’s very, very different, and it has taken a bit of getting ised to.

paper1

I fiddled around with layers, textures, gradient, cookie cutters etc., and made a background paper …. which whilst not wonderful is a start to learnign it (I see to be a hands on type learner first and then read up later when Iget a bit more confidence).

Just managed to get a copy of Craft Stamper this afternoon, and Toodles & Binks are featured in there – yippee!!

Toodles & Binks Explore (KXR-018)

KXR-018-wm-catalog

R.R.P. £4.35 unmounted and +50p mounted on UMOUNT

Main image measure about 10 cm x 9 cm (plus sentiments)

yay, rubbah finally cooked for this one….. a lovely new design by Kate Rietz, which is called Toodles & Binks Explore.

We’ve really pushed the boat out with two sentiments added to the stamp for you, “Have Fun today …” in the usual Amanda’s Hand and “EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITIES” in another fabbie font that we have been given permission to use – tis slightly worn looking and works perfectly with the image.

Soz about the watermarking (there are some very bad people out there who steal), I would love to show without, but can’t take the risk.

If I say so myself Toodles and Binks just keep getting better and better, with even more bang for your buck – it’s showing in the Stamp Galaxy shore as pre-order at the moment, but we have a big pile of ready to go out with the pre-orders and DT pack.

I’m off to teach a make’n’take at the Chicken Shack Craft Club in South Nutfield this morning so need to scoot to get ready.

A BIG thank you to everyone who visited the blog yesterday, I just need to get time to run round the hop myself and read everything properly.

Ohhh, and don’t forget that Toodles & Binks blog still has blog candy to give away this month.

Hip…hip…hippity…hop – a lovely Sugar Nellie blog, blog hop…..

welcome to my world …. won’t you come on in …. and have carry on the circle of hopping ……

what a shashing stamp this one is, it’s called “Believe”….I have had a great time working with it, and am the HUGEST Diana Duda fan, so thank you Karen so much for letting me play.  Hop over to Funky Kits to get yours.

Our Toodles is off to Secondary School in September, and there is lots of girly talk around bags for books, etc., and so this little piece will hand on her zipper of the smart and v. trendy black and white bag she has her eye on:

2009-06-20-DSCF0512

I am such a rubbish photographer that unfortunately, you cannot see just how lovely and glassy this is – there are actually 7 layers of Chiaro-Flo Embossing Powder layered on, and in really life it is sooo shiney.  Tis a piece of stampboard stamped with Momento (Rich Cocoa) and then coloured in with the beloved COPICS which we now carry in store.  The small star image is one by Elzybells which I picked up from StampinCaz a little while ago, as she had fallen out of love with it.

Next up my main card:

2009-06-20-DSCF0515

It’s a bit bright, but this sweet lil lady can take it!

  1. Piece of Kraft 12×12 cardstock cut in half to make a 6×6 card.
  2. Cut a piece of  Sage Green Medium Prism cardstock to fit within that, but leaving a large border of the Kraft around the edge.
  3. Cut a piece of Doodlebug pink pattern paper and then use the SU Edge Distressing Kit to rough things up a little.
  4. Using white Prism cardstock cut the largest Labels 4 die out.
  5. Stamp on “Believe” stamp by Sugar Nellie and colour in with Copics, and edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.  Mount on the card to one side with 3d foam pads
  6. Take a white silk flower and colour with green and pink copics, and mount on the lefthandside of the lable die.
  7. Cut a White Cardstock panel large enough to extend just over the green panel and scallop punch the edge with SU punch.
  8. Edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.
  9. Tie a piece of brown gingham ribbon slightly up from the bottom, and mount the panel on the card.
  10. Cut out a swirl motiff (Provocraft) from white cardstock and colour in the swirl in dark pink copice and the heart in lime green copice and mount on the card.
  11. Sprinkle liberally with white pearls, and some coloured in BV23.
  12. Decorate the insides and rear of card – not done this as I had to get up at 5 to finish this off – nothing like cutting it fine hey!
