Hip…hip…hippity…hop – a lovely Sugar Nellie blog, blog hop…..

welcome to my world …. won’t you come on in …. and have carry on the circle of hopping ……

what a shashing stamp this one is, it’s called “Believe”….I have had a great time working with it, and am the HUGEST Diana Duda fan, so thank you Karen so much for letting me play.  Hop over to Funky Kits to get yours.

Our Toodles is off to Secondary School in September, and there is lots of girly talk around bags for books, etc., and so this little piece will hand on her zipper of the smart and v. trendy black and white bag she has her eye on:

I am such a rubbish photographer that unfortunately, you cannot see just how lovely and glassy this is – there are actually 7 layers of Chiaro-Flo Embossing Powder layered on, and in really life it is sooo shiney.  Tis a piece of stampboard stamped with Momento (Rich Cocoa) and then coloured in with the beloved COPICS which we now carry in store.  The small star image is one by Elzybells which I picked up from StampinCaz a little while ago, as she had fallen out of love with it.

Next up my main card:

It’s a bit bright, but this sweet lil lady can take it!

  1. Piece of Kraft 12×12 cardstock cut in half to make a 6×6 card.
  2. Cut a piece of  Sage Green Medium Prism cardstock to fit within that, but leaving a large border of the Kraft around the edge.
  3. Cut a piece of Doodlebug pink pattern paper and then use the SU Edge Distressing Kit to rough things up a little.
  4. Using white Prism cardstock cut the largest Labels 4 die out.
  5. Stamp on “Believe” stamp by Sugar Nellie and colour in with Copics, and edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.  Mount on the card to one side with 3d foam pads
  6. Take a white silk flower and colour with green and pink copics, and mount on the lefthandside of the lable die.
  7. Cut a White Cardstock panel large enough to extend just over the green panel and scallop punch the edge with SU punch.
  8. Edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.
  9. Tie a piece of brown gingham ribbon slightly up from the bottom, and mount the panel on the card.
  10. Cut out a swirl motiff (Provocraft) from white cardstock and colour in the swirl in dark pink copice and the heart in lime green copice and mount on the card.
  11. Sprinkle liberally with white pearls, and some coloured in BV23.
  12. Decorate the insides and rear of card – not done this as I had to get up at 5 to finish this off – nothing like cutting it fine hey!

I am busy doing crafty bits, but….

unfortunately I cannot share them until Friday first thing…..’cos I am in a blog hop for Sugar Nellie.  Yes, you did read that correctly, I posted a comment on Karen’s blog  and mine was one of the names that cam out of the hat.  She very sweetly let my name go through (even though I also run a stamp company) to the draw, and I was lucky enough to be one of the peeps that got a lovely new stamp from them, especially as it is a Diana Duda design ………. and I LUV Diana’s work – so thank you Karen if you read this it was lovely of you, and I shall pop one of our stamps in the post to play with as a thank you.

So, I have been playing and hopefully will have a couple of projects to post on the blog then.

Just breaking my crafting fingers back in

with a little bit of the beloved COPIC colouring.

Actually, I’ve forgotten to colour in his face, must do that.

Colours used:

  • Y13 Lemon Yellow
  • Y21 Buttercup Yellow
  • C1 Cool Gray
  • R20 Blush
  • B21 Baby Blue
  • YR07 Cadmium Yellow
  • YR24 Pale Sepia
  • R59 Cardinal
  • BV04 Blue Berry
  • G21 Lime Green
  • Also used Sakura in blue and Pearl and Black Pearlidoodes, Glossy Accents

Actually, Suzy inspired me to use the glossy accents, check out her wonderful blog (especially if you’re into COPICS and beautiful, beautiful artwork).

Ohhh, and just a tip when using glossy accents, make sure it’s completely dry before you put it in a scanner with the lid loaded with heavy stuff – I’ve just done it, and it’s flippin’ annoying – arghghgh!

UK STampers have got a show & tell on at the moment

The pictures included in that post are my own current solution to this problem.  Check it out here.

We’d love you to join in with the debate.

Sugar Nellie Card

Ingredients:

Just a quick card using an image I coloured ages ago.

I’m loving the SU spiral punch, it’s great for defining an edge of something.

UK STampers Sugar Nellie #4 Challenge – Baby Pink

2008-02-17-number-3.jpg

this week’s Sugar Nellie challenge was to use Baby Pink, and this is my offering.

Baby Pink Bazzill 12×12 cardstock cut to 6×12, and then scored in half using my Scor-it Board.  I also ran a couple of lines down the right hand side, which unfortunately don’t show up too well on the picture (dang the winter months, never enough time to take photos).

I then used the large rectangle nestabilities and cut a white one (SU Whispers White from stampingcaz) and a larger one in Razellberry Dark.

The image is Sugar Nellie’s Baby Mille, and as usual, I’ve coloured with COPIC markers.

Stamped “Best Wishes” (from my SU Sincere Salutations set), and added various claret/green with Pomegrante Zooz in the centre of two of them and a PM jewel brad in the centre of the other one.

O is for orange – Sugar Nellie UK STampers Challenge #3

2008-02-10-challenge31.jpg

this was my contribution for the UK STampers Sugar Nellie #3 challenge – which was any Sugar Nellie stamp plus the use of orange.

I covered this with orange cardstock, and orange gingham ribbon.
