My entry for Copics Colour Challenge # 4

2009-03-15-no4-dscf0375

I didn’t have the Yellow that was requested in the challenge, so I used the closest that I had to it……..

  • Y17 – Golden Yellow
  • V06 – Lavender
  • BG13 – Mint Green

and then added to that:

  • YE31 – Brick Beige
  • YR14 – Caramel
  • E41 Pearl White
  • C1 – Cool Grey 1
  • Sakura Silver Gelly roll for centre flowers and Crystal Art Inst Glitter with Sakura Quickie Glue Pen

I wanted to go sublte for this one, so I coloured the centres of the flowers with the Mint Green, and then did one pass of the yellow on the petals, added spots of violet to the petals, and went over again with yellow to blend it together ….. I had some of the beautiful mottled pansies in mind that are in our garden at the moment.  Then I went over the leaves and stalks with mint green, and filled in the centre with the peal white.  As usual all around the outside with cool grey 1.  The ribbon was coloured in the violet.

I first of all just coloured the centres with the silver sakura gelly roll, but it was a bit flat, so in the end I used my fail safe of white PM pearls here and there and coloured then with the mint green – just having plain pearls and colouring always means I can co-ordinate (it works on ribbon too), and just then used the Quickie Glue pen on the few remaining centres and the ribbon on the pot – it gives gives a bit more texture.

The card blank is a tiny one from SU (I got lots of them in a goodie bag last year), and so this has given me an idea, I’m going to start doing more cards this size and then bundle them up as gifts packs in holders for Xmas.  The stamp set is SU Garden Playtime, and I’ve had it probably since last summer (bought it from Caz), and never used it.

I thought I had quite a few colours, but it’s clear that I am going to need more to keep up, and Stamp Galaxy/Toodles and Binks have been thinking about becoming Copic Distributors, so would anyone be interested in pre-ordering sets or single colours if we did?

PS:  Uggghh, I’ve just realised that the cardstock looks really blue in the picture, when it’s actually a bright peakcock green colour.

  • Y13 Lemon Yellow
  • Y21 Buttercup Yellow
  • C1 Cool Gray
  • R20 Blush
  • B21 Baby Blue
  • YR07 Cadmium Yellow
  • YR24 Pale Sepia

  • Also used Sakura in blue and Pearl and Black Pearlidoodes, Glossy Accents

Actually, Suzy inspired me to use the glossy accents, check out her wonderful blog (especially if you’re into COPICS and beautiful, beautiful artwork).

Ohhh, and just a tip when using glossy accents, make sure it’s completely dry before you put it in a scanner with the lid loaded with heavy stuff – I’ve just done it, and it’s flippin’ annoying – arghghgh!

Anna Griffin Pattern Paper & Stamp

Ohhhh, I likey the new WordPress add an image changes, much better.

Just a really quick card from last night, I thought I’d break myself in gently.

Ages and ages ago I bought an Anna Griffin box set from Creat & Craft TV (and as with a lot of stuff never used it).

I found it again last night as I was going through the stuff to be put back into the new kitchen, and right on the top of the box was this loevely pattern paper.

Card blank, pattern paper and ribbon and butterfly and frame stamp from the AG box, with the addition of Prima Daisy Crazy “Jasime”, PM red jewel brad, a portion of a Cricut swirl, Sakura pens, green Stickles and Rudolph’s Nose Zoomz.

A step too far – whoops!

2008-01-13-bellacard.jpg

don’t you just hate that – I was quite pleased with this card, and then picked up what I thought was a Sakura silver glitter pen and it happened to be a Sakura Clear Glaze Pen – flip!

Big thank you to Han for this lovely image – I’m definitely have to get one.

Cardstock:  Prism

Ribbon:  MM coloured with COPIC

Flower:  Prima coloured with COPIC

Stamp:  Stamping Bella, Happy Birthday (SU), Flower image (Cactus Pink)

The centre of the flower is a Zoomz, but I’ve used Pearl Perarlidoodles to stick it in the centre.

Inks: Palette Noir, Purple Marvy Metallic Pen, Chocolate Chip (SU), COPICS

One of Mother in Law’s cards

2008-01-23-mumcard.jpg

her birthday is the same day as our Toodles, so it’s always a mega cardmaking session at this time of the year.

I’m not sure I like this one at all, but it might grow on me (probably should have stamped the circle image in Black, and just may be the sugar coated scallop is a little too bright.  What do you think is lacking/wrong with it?

No posting for me tomorrow as I’m off up to Ol’ London Town with my Pal straight from work, so won’t be getting home until about Midnight tomorrow.

I’ll be interested to hear what you have to say about this one, it’s always good to get constructive feedback – we don’t always like our own work, or can’t put our finger on the problem with something.

Sorry if you don’t love Magnolia, another one

this is the card I made with yesterday’s uploaded image. I won’t go into a huge long supplies list, as I don’t know what colour the case cardstock is – just generic kraft’ish, and the matting is Razzleberry Dark Prism and a bottle green cardstock. Pattern Paper by by AMM.

Image, as usual, coloured with COPICs, and a sprinkle of Sakura on the flowers and the hearts on the small stamp image.

I’ve also discovered Karen Foster’s Loopy Brads – had them forever….but never got them out the packet……..they are fabbie things, and great for threading with thread or ribbon, and then hanging images from – a la this card.

Little stamp image is from Aud’s Circle Sentiment Sheet (I need to get some more of them in stock).

Actually, I think that I’ll just add some of the jade self-adhesvie pearls to the other three corners of this.

I’m just about to start working on a project with my Bind it All – had it for ages, and not even used it in anger – so watch this space.

Quick Colouring Exercise

it’s for another Christmas tag, not sure if I’m completely happy with the gold Sakura pen I used to give some definition to the snowmen….but it might grow on me when it’s made into a tag.

Coloured with COPICS (Chinese Orange (YR09); Deep Magenta (RV17); Lime Green (G21); Yellow Green (YG03) & Olive (G99). As I mentioned, I coloured just down the edges of their bodies with a Gold Sakura Mettalic pen, and washed inwards.

Stamp is by Magenta.

I really do love the Deep Magenta and Lime Green together though – fabulous combo.
