What’s on your desk?

2009-06-26-DSCF0537

this is on mine ………. I had a spare piece of the text paper, and so decided to try out my new Spellbinders Magnetic Plate (only thing is that I have yet to work out how to use it with the CB, and used my Wizard).

The dies stick like glue to the plate, and so it’s really super easy to make a frame.

Once cut out I used specially adapted Alcohol Ink applicator with Cut’n’Dry Foam to ink around all edges, and then stamped out the pretty SU flower girl on Whispers White cardstock and coloured in with Copics.  Added Stickles to the flower heads, and Crackle Accents to the hat, then placed the frame over the image.

’twill probably look mega pretty on a box, and so that might be the next thing on my list this weekend.

We are excitedly awaiting the return of the Rubbah Elf in this household tonight, as he’s been away on business in Italy, the house is just not the same with out him!

Tomorrow is a busy day, as we’ve got to be at Bluewater early doors for Toodles uniform fitting, and then general food shopping etc., in the afternoon, but hopefully I can make a start on my box – it would possibly make a nice housing for choccies for each of the girls on thir last day at work in September.

Have a good evening, and happy crafting.

Toodles & Binks Explore (KXR-018)

never stick down your sentiment, and then do crackle accents over the top of it, and be careful when you remove Frisket masking film in an excited fashion…… ask me how I know this?

A quick and in an out post with a view of the Toodles & Binks Explore card that is sitting on my desk – I just need to stick down the curling edge of the sentiment with something a little stronger, and it will be good to go:

As usual coloured in with copics (too many colours to mention, but in stock at the Galaxy), and my yummy crackle and sepia accents added as well.  I used the last of the air in my air brush to do the sky.

Hip…hip…hippity…hop – a lovely Sugar Nellie blog, blog hop…..

welcome to my world …. won’t you come on in …. and have carry on the circle of hopping ……

what a shashing stamp this one is, it’s called “Believe”….I have had a great time working with it, and am the HUGEST Diana Duda fan, so thank you Karen so much for letting me play.  Hop over to Funky Kits to get yours.

Our Toodles is off to Secondary School in September, and there is lots of girly talk around bags for books, etc., and so this little piece will hand on her zipper of the smart and v. trendy black and white bag she has her eye on:

2009-06-20-DSCF0512

I am such a rubbish photographer that unfortunately, you cannot see just how lovely and glassy this is – there are actually 7 layers of Chiaro-Flo Embossing Powder layered on, and in really life it is sooo shiney.  Tis a piece of stampboard stamped with Momento (Rich Cocoa) and then coloured in with the beloved COPICS which we now carry in store.  The small star image is one by Elzybells which I picked up from StampinCaz a little while ago, as she had fallen out of love with it.

Next up my main card:

2009-06-20-DSCF0515

It’s a bit bright, but this sweet lil lady can take it!

  1. Piece of Kraft 12×12 cardstock cut in half to make a 6×6 card.
  2. Cut a piece of  Sage Green Medium Prism cardstock to fit within that, but leaving a large border of the Kraft around the edge.
  3. Cut a piece of Doodlebug pink pattern paper and then use the SU Edge Distressing Kit to rough things up a little.
  4. Using white Prism cardstock cut the largest Labels 4 die out.
  5. Stamp on “Believe” stamp by Sugar Nellie and colour in with Copics, and edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.  Mount on the card to one side with 3d foam pads
  6. Take a white silk flower and colour with green and pink copics, and mount on the lefthandside of the lable die.
  7. Cut a White Cardstock panel large enough to extend just over the green panel and scallop punch the edge with SU punch.
  8. Edge with Dark Moss Fluid Chalk Ink.
  9. Tie a piece of brown gingham ribbon slightly up from the bottom, and mount the panel on the card.
  10. Cut out a swirl motiff (Provocraft) from white cardstock and colour in the swirl in dark pink copice and the heart in lime green copice and mount on the card.
  11. Sprinkle liberally with white pearls, and some coloured in BV23.
  12. Decorate the insides and rear of card – not done this as I had to get up at 5 to finish this off – nothing like cutting it fine hey!

Deepest Sympathy (Rose Tapestry BIU-017)

2009-06-13-rosetap-card

This is the first time I’ve got to play with the new Rose Tapestry Sheet (BIU-017), and I am having heaps of fun with it.

2009-06-13-rosetap-cardinside

I used a portion of the Rose Tapestry 6×6 main stamp as well as “Deepest Sympathy” and the “Rose Leaves” quotation on the inside.

I deliberately ran a bit of extra Versamark around some of the edge of the “Deepest Sympathy” stamp so that it picked up some of the Galactic Gold EP and gave it a slightly distressed look.

Gone Fishing …

2009-06-09-georgecard-DSCF0498

mmmm, now this picture (taken by the Rubbah Elf I hasten to add) just does not do justice to how shiney the embossed circles are, or how beautifully irridescent the fish are in real life….. it’s all really 3-d, but again it most definitely has not come through – this is destined for a Birthday Boy tomorrow, so I am not sure if I can bet a better shot, but will give it a go.

Hippity hopping around is much better, but I am still in loads of pain – this bit of crafting has made me feel way better though.

EDITED TO ADD: Nope try as I might I can’t capture just how this shines in reality – soz about that.

Looks like a beautiful Bank Holiday weekend ……

here at the Galaxy, and so to celebrate the great COPIC product upload that is going on, we have free shipping.

Simply input SHIP2ME in the coupon box at checkout, and hit “redeem” box and it will deduct the shipping costs for you all weekend.

We are working as fast as possible to get everything in store, and are currently working our way through the shipping manifest as quickly as possible, and will concentrate on the images when we get to the end of this (I have managed to get a couple of images input, so don’t be fooled into thinking that is all we have in store at the moment).

Right, now off to grab some toast and get back to it….
