Angelic Puzzle……….

This is a puzzle piece that Angel on UK STampers sent me. She wanted something with an Angel on it.
Stamped the stars with clear EP, then painted the whole thing with Mystic Blue Twinkling H20, and then ironed off the EP.
Stamped the angel on to copier paper, coloured with Lyra watercolours and then stamped out the wings separately onto Spring Morning Fantasy Film with StazOn. The added wings and angel to puzzle piece, and stamped the word “Angel” over the top.
Highlighted bits of the piece with Opal Dust, and then when dry coated with Versamark and clear EP a couple of times.
Finally, added gems to the centres of some of the stars and hearts.
Stamps: Stars/hearts are Non-Seq, Angel was from a Artistic Stamper sheet.
Inks: Black StazOn and Versamark
Other: Twinkling H2o’s, Spring Morning Fantasy Film, gems

Altered Mint Tin

On the top of the lid I added more stamped/coloured images on tissue, and also the Hero Arts Dictionary Definition.

Then around the outside edge of the lid, I ran a bead of Glossy Accents and then applied some of the Art Insitute Glass Glitter.

I have got to finish off the whole thing by giving it a coat of acrylic sealer for toughness, but thought I would wait til I could leave it to cure after this class was done.

Happy Birth UK STampers…one today…

how marvellous!

We have small cyber event today, with a couple of classes, games and a virtual cocktail party later.

I’m still getting things ready, but have just cleared off my desk ready, to put the finishing touches to the first class, and do some serious stamping.

Recovery……………..

is finally being screened on BBC One on Sunday at 21.00 pm. I am in a frenzy of excitement.

It seems like ages ago David filmed this drama for Tiger Aspect [clue!!]. He plays Alan Hamilton a married man who gets run over by a car after a drink with work colleagues. How will his on-screen wife Tricia [clue!!] cope with it all, and the changes in her beloved husband?

I’m sure many parts of this will be harrowing, especially for anyone that has had a close encounter with brain injuries (and their effects on both patient and family)..but one thing is for sure there are not many actors that could do this part such brilliant justice. You will definitely need your tissues.

David spent time with the Brain Injury Charity, Headway in Essex before filming, and I believe may now well be Patron.

If you are wondering about the [clue!!] bits: I’m feeling generous and helping out the UK STampers girls with their pre-birthday game. I accept that they might not have the encyclopedic knowledge of Mr T that I do (they actually have lives!).

Wednesday Stamper – Footwear

Wednesday Stamper this week was a piece of work about footwear.

This is my effort, which is a triangular card.
Pattern Paper: Making Memories stripe and Daisy D’s vintage footwear paper.

Stamps are by Art Warehouse and Artistic Stamper and Carved Swirls (Tim Holtz) by Stampers Anonymous and writing is from my large Stampington cube.

I cut a piece of Prism Soot cardstock 6 x 12, then with my easi-score board scored at 2″, 6″ and 10″ intervals from one end, folded and edged with gold pigment ink.

Cut pieces of the MM Stripe paper to fit on the four front panels, edged with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and stamped on the two main panels with the writing from my Stampington large cube in Timber Brown StazOn, and for good measure added a couple of clocks from an Artistic Stamper sheet.
Then took a piece stripe of lined paper from my Heartwarming Expressions pad, and stamped the circles from the Art Warehouse set. Covered the whole thing with Versamark and then Kalidescope EP.

The two smaller front panels I stamped on the MM Striped paper with my carved swirls stamp. Then on a piece of the Heartwarming Expressions lined paper stamped the lace border stamp, covered with Versamark and Kalidescope EP.
I then edged all the pieces with ink and stuck to the panels.
Next stamped out scrabble tiles from my Artistic Stamper scrabble word sheet, and added them to the two larger front panels – “M’Lady has” one one side and “New Shoes” on the other side.
I then stamped a rectangular lace border with the lace stamp big enough to take an image from the vintage shoe paper, masked it off and stamped in hearts from Hero Arts Border Stamp inside, then added a shoe image at an angle, and tied some fibre round it. I added this to one of the larger front panels above the words with silicone glue. I did the same for the other side, but added it below the words.
I took two of the fabulous Sarah Card’s blank chipboard blanks that I picked up from the Bloomin’ Scraps Crop, painted them with Jo Sonja’s Jade acrylic paint, a bit of Jo Sonja’s gold paint. Once dry covered with Versamark and Kalidescope powder again, and heated so that one was purple in colour, and the other slightly greener.
Added bling brads to the centres and ribbon behind, then added on to top on the left panel and one to the bottom on the right panel. Then an eyelet on each side of the two panels so I could tie it shut with string.
For the inside, I covered each panel with a piece of the Daisy D paper, which had been dirtied up with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and Antique Paper Distress ink.
When I was chatting to Linda at the Crop I admitted that I rarely part with my stuff, it only goes to people that will appreciate the work involved – so, I know she would appreciate it, and when it’s done it will go off to her. Although Kelly has aksed me to bring it along when it’s done for her to have a look at it too.
I think I might add a couple of pockets and a bookmark or something to the inside.
The idea is that when it’s tied up it stands in a triangular shape. It was so easy to do with an easi-score board, that I think I will do a lot more of this shape in the future.

Just bought myself a pricing gun…….

from ebay, I’ve been after one for ages, and dediced that I would hunt one down this afternoon. The seller’s feedback was 100% positive, and he says that he despatches straight away – so fingers crossed that it will be here in a couple of days.

I’ve also done a bit of the stock taking today, and discovered some things that I’d forgotten to add to the site, so I need to get those loaded up.

The Bloomin Scraps crop went well yesterday, and I met Linda from UK STampers – it’s alwasy lovely to put a face to a name isn’t it!

David Tennant news: apparently he has just filmed a sketch for Comic Relief with Catherine Tate as Lauren – am I’ bovvered? No, I’m delighted. There’s a rumour that he will be sporting a tweed suit and glasses – ohhhh my, is it hot in here?
